Running Through Fire: A Test of Persistence
Today’s run (LONG RUN tracked via the ADIDAS RUNNING app) was one of those days that truly tested me. The sun was blazing at 32°C, and from the very start, I knew it would be a challenge. My shadow stretched ahead of me on the pavement, like a silent companion urging me forward. Each step felt heavier than the last, but I reminded myself why I started and refused to give up.
Even though I’ve had many runs before, today required focus and determination to stick to the planned pace and distance. I had moments where I questioned if I could continue, but I pushed through, step by step. By the time I reached my break spot, the sense of accomplishment was overwhelming. I sat down, opened my gel, hydrated, and simply let myself soak in the sun, feeling proud of finishing what I started.
I carried 1.5 liters of water with me and brought along two gels, just to make sure I could stay hydrated and energized. Even with these small preparations, the heat and the effort were real, but every sip and bite reminded me to keep going.
Running like this isn’t just about fitness, it’s about persistence, self-discipline, and enjoying the little moments along the way. The shadow that led me, the warm sunlight, and the pause to recharge made this long run more than just a workout, it became a mindful experience, a reminder of what I can accomplish when I stay committed.
“Sometimes, it’s not about speed or distance, it’s about showing up, finishing what you start, and enjoying the journey, no matter the challenges.“
