Lessons Learned from My Early Morning Run (Run#12)

Trusting the process, one run at a time.

I woke up early, packed my backpack, and was excited for today’s interval run (ADIDAS RUNNING). During the warm-up, my watch (Apple Watch Ultra 2) suddenly showed heart rate zone 5–6, which must have been an error, or maybe just my nerves and anticipation. It was a fresh morning, and I was genuinely looking forward to the fast intervals, which I’ve really grown to enjoy.

About halfway through, though, I noticed a sharp pain in my left knee, radiating slightly toward the thigh. It came and went, but during the last few intervals it was strong enough that I caught myself muttering in frustration with each step. On the final repeat, it even felt as though my leg might give way, with the discomfort stretching from my lower back all the way down to my toes.

Looking back, I realise I had already noticed some instability in my lower back and hips the week before, but I hadn’t worked consistently enough to counter it. That weakness really showed itself today.

On the positive side, I can clearly feel the training effect in my thigh muscles, and the adjustments to my nutrition plan are already helping support my recovery. Despite the pain, it’s motivating to see the progress building session by session

Today reminded me that setbacks are part of growth — every interval teaches resilience.”
