Key to Running Success (Run#13)

Listening to the body, not the ego.

Today’s 45-minute tempo run (ADIDAS RUNNING) was a mix of ups and downs. My stomach wasn’t great before heading out, and around 3 km I felt a sharp pain in my left knee that came and went. Later I noticed some discomfort under the ball of my right foot, which frustrated me at first, but it didn’t stop me.

On the bright side, I explored a beautiful new forest route, a mix between my “mid-forest trail” and the full forest trail. Despite the walking break and a quick pause, I was surprised by my pace. Once again I started too fast (something I’m still learning to manage), but overall I’m moving closer toward my real goal: running longer distances and eventually preparing for ultramarathons.

After the run, my stomach acted up again, maybe from too many electrolytes or my homemade gel. I also felt a bit drained, so I filled up with pasta and veggies and gave myself time to rest.

Noting the lesson and moving on — patience and pacing remain my biggest teachers.
