Strength in rhythm and awareness.
Today was a planned tempo run, and I had been excited for it since yesterday. I packed my backpack, brought a water bottle, and carried one gel since I felt a bit low on energy. After a night of poor sleep, I started the day feeling a little sluggish but still motivated to run.
I set out slowly with one hour planned: warm-up first, then moving into yellow zone. As often happens, I began too quickly, but once I found my rhythm, the tempo felt strong and steady. I noticed that my inner thigh muscles were exhausted, but it was also satisfying to feel the effort paying off.
I fueled with my gel, enjoyed the fresh air, and listened to my audiobook, which let my thoughts drift to faraway places where I might run one day. After the tempo section, I cooled down with a relaxed jog.
I only drank about 200 ml of water during the run, less than usual, but with the lower temperatures it was enough.
After showering, I noticed my body cooling down quickly and layered up with warm clothes despite the warmer weather outside. For recovery, I’ll break routine today: instead of a freezer meal prep, I’ll cook something, then rest and maybe add a yoga session after work.

“Rhythm brings strength, and small adjustments in pacing and recovery make the training journey richer.“
