When the mind is ready, but the body resists.
I was excited for today’s tempo run. Mentally I felt balanced, calm, and strong, ready for the steady rhythm of this session.
But as soon as I set off, my body disagreed. Instead of finding flow, everything felt stiff and unsettled. My right hip tugged and ached, and even after a quick stretch, the sensation remained. It was as if the cold had settled deep into my bones, surprising for a run I had anticipated with such positivity.
Despite the discomfort, I kept moving. The constant pace was challenging to maintain, and relaxation never fully came. Still, I reminded myself: days like this are part of training, too.
I carried one water bottle, which I finished during the run. The duration was one hour; it was not easy, but it was almost completed.

I’ll give my body time to rest now, stretch, and focus on reconnecting body and mind. Some runs test strength, others patience. Today was the latter.
Even when the mind feels ready, the body has its own rhythm. Respecting both is part of the journey.
