Why I Started Meal & Motion

Some projects begin with a grand plan. Mine began with a rhythm I couldn’t ignore and a very practical nudge.

Meal prep started as a way to simplify life.

I didn’t have the time (or the energy) to cook every night, and I wanted to stop defaulting to last-minute choices. At first it was pure convenience. But then it became care—a way to fuel with intention, reduce stress, and actually enjoy food again. Now it’s a ritual that keeps me grounded.

The turning point?

A one-week camping trip. We had to save money and water (our tank held only 100 l). I love cooking, but I wanted a real holiday too. So I tried my first serious meal prep: I cooked ahead and froze 6 days of meals. It worked so well that I decided to prepare meals for 10 days the next time. It resulted in less chaos, reduced costs, and increased presence. That’s when I realized: small systems make space for the life I want.

Around the same time, a family experience with Gilbert’s syndrome reminded me how much steady, balanced meals can help. Marathon dreams were calling, but they asked for a kinder cadence: three to four smaller meals a day, spaced 3.5–5 hours apart. As my meal rhythm settled, my body responded. With steady, balanced fuel, I started to build muscle, recover faster, and show up to each session with more stable energy. Fewer dips, clearer focus, and a calm, ready body—meal prep turned out to be performance prep.

Meal & Motion was born from that quiet transformation

  • food that respects the body and planet,
  • training that respects your starting point,
  • Progress is built on small, faithful repetitions.

In June I ran my first marathon distance (no race, just heart), with a lovely “aid station” my love set up. And I finally began ballet, a childhood dream—proof that grace and grit belong together.

If you’re rebuilding trust with your body, craving a structure that feels kind, and ready to let consistency do its quiet work, welcome. Stay with me. Cook something simple. Lace up slowly. Let’s keep time together.

P.S. I’ll share the full camping meal-prep story, what I cooked, and how I packed the freezer soon.

Thanks for reading it.
